At Knuzen Tannenbaum nature is around every single tree.
We are using a minimum of chemicals at Knuzen Tannenbaum and allow weed to grow all around or Christmas trees. We have herbs, clover, grass and flowers between our trees which gives habitats for insects. We have parcels which are100% free from pesticides or any other chemicals if this is the demand. So with all the herbs, grasses and flowers we have a huge amount of insects. All the insects attracts a large amount of small birds who helps us in springtime eating plant lice’s (aphids) and we help them find a suitable department where they can hatch next generation. So when you buy trees from Knuzen Tannenbaum you buy space for our nature.
We also have falcon nests because falcons prevents the crows and black birds from breaking top shoots in spring time. Compared to other agriculture productions we are rarely inside a tractor but mostly in a pair of hiking boots walking up and down the rows of trees performing different kinds of tasks. We use the top stop plier for top shot reduction, also know as the “twister”
We harvest seeds from the flowers and bring them out in spring together with the organic fertilizers in this way we try to control the flora we have around the trees.
