SAP e-recruiting datamodel and some tips & tricks SAP E-recruiting is a multi functional recruitment system, which must be customized according to the guidelines from SAP.
E-recruiting is a multifunctional tool with a lot of functionality, but it must be supported well in production to avoid breakdowns. · The performance of the Trex and e-recruiting machine must always be monitored to secure a top tuned system for recruiters and candidates. Remember the e-recruiting is the first impression a potential employee will get from your company so keep it in good shape. · Isolate the e-recruiting system to a seperate machine, hereby you also have control of what you recieve through application attachments. An isolated e-recruiting machine will also be easier to tune regarding performance. · E-recruiting must be customised by the book to secure the performance, so you must be a very experienced e-recruiting customiser before you accept different kind of changes from the business, which deviates from the standard e-recruiting processes. If you accept changes to the standard processes you compromise with the performance of the system and nobody will benefit from a bad performing system. · Split the index on the Trex. This will give you the opportunity to build up each index seperately. One large index will be much to time consuming to build. With one of my customers it took up to 72 hours to rebuild this index. So imaging you have been through a upgrade where the system has been set on stand-bye for 2 days and candidates and recruiters will now have to wait another 3 days before they are up and running. · Make sure your  antivirus program is working with the Trex otherwise you end up with an corrupt index. And if your index is not splitted as mentioned before you will have to wait until it is rebuild. · Don’t -Don’t -Don’t take a back up of a corrupt index! Control the index before the back up is created. · Use the system as intended. Don’t set up a requisition with 1000+ candidates on –use talent groups or several requisitions to split the candidates in logical groups from where you can structure them. · Get rid of old recruiting data. If you want to do reporting store the old data in BI and keep the operational system fit for fight. Please keep in mind the legal requirements regarding for how long time you are allowed to store the data of candidates. It will be a god idea to remember this during your business blueprint and have it as a seperate business procedure.
